Before we wrap up the year 2020, First Aid Pro is proud to announce that we are now accredited to deliver RACGP courses, including First Aid, CPR, and BLS courses.

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is Australia’s largest professional body for general practitioners (GPs). The organisation represents both urban and rural general practitioners in the country.

This RACGP accreditation allows us to apply for continuing professional development (CDP) points on behalf of the general practitioners when they complete a CPR or a BLS course with First Aid Pro.

CPR Course for GPs (BLS-CPR)

RACGP accredited resuscitation skills (BLS-CPR) course covers both theory and practical skills required to learn or refresh your CPR skills and knowledge. The 2-hour course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of GPs and other professionals in the medical industry.

The practical part of the training session includes the DRSABCD action plan.

  • Perform CPR on an unconscious and/or unresponsive victim
  • Adult, Child, and Infant CPR techniques
  • Demonstration of the use of Defibrillator (AED)
  • Learn alternative methods of delivering rescue breaths
  • Use of EpiPen
  • Management of drowning incident
  • Management of Anaphylaxis

Upon completion, the participant will be issued a nationally recognised statement of attainment for HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation as well as 5 points (under category two) and a certificate of attendance for your RACGP requirements.

The RACGP standards recommend undertaking CPR refresher every 12 months. CPR refresher/renewal can reinforce your lifesaving skills and knowledge, giving you the confidence and competence to assist if needed.

High-Performance CPR (HPCPR) for GPs, Nurses and Primary Care

The High-Performance Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (HRCPR) course is the new standard treatment for cardiac arrest. It is the most effective way to perform CPR and improve the overall application through high-quality skills that lead to a higher chance of survival. The HRCPR Course is designed to fill the gap between the recommended guidelines and the actual performance of most providers.

This 4-6 Hour training is ideal for GPs, Nurses, and other emergency personnel, including EMS responders, training officers, instructors, and quality improvement managers.

It aims to expand the skills of GPs and Nurses based on the new approach to resuscitation where they will develop and gain the confidence to handle cardiac arrest emergencies with the latest intervention strategies designed to improve survival.

Upon completion, the participant will be issued a nationally recognised statement of attainment the same day as well as 8 points (under category 2) and a certificate of attendance for your RACGP requirements.

The demonstration of the current CPR requires evidence of successful completion of a CPR Course that is in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. The ARC Guidelines and RACGP recognises the fact that CPR skills are used infrequently.

For that reason, they recommend refreshers and updates on a regular basis and that the course should be completed at least annually.

First Aid Pro is an accredited CPR education provider under the RACGP CPR program 2020-2022.
