Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Since July 2010, all nurses renew their registration through the national government body, the ‘Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency‘ (AHPRA). As part of the registration system, all nurses must acquire career development needs through a learning program.
As at July 2010, nurses must acquire 20 Continuing Professional Development points (CPD) each year to renew their nursing registration.
Comprehensive First Aid
FirstAidPro’s primary training course “HLTAID011 Provide First Aid” is one of the most comprehensive and popular first aid courses available. Formerly known as “Senior First Aid”, or “HLTFA311A”, or “HLTAID003”, HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the minimum qualification required by most workplace health and safety legislation for the workplace first aider.
It will provide you with an understanding of how to apply immediate care of an injured or suddenly sick casualty be that first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until more advanced medical help arrives.

Our Provide First Aid course encompasses three training units which represent the cornerstones of workplace first aid certification.
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
The course also includes defibrillation (AED) and EpiPen training.
Course Content:
- Management of the unresponsive victim
- Resuscitation
- External bleeding – trauma and shock
- Respiratory emergencies
- Cardiac emergencies
- Fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
- Head and spinal injuries
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy/convulsions
- Envenomation, poisoning and allergic reactions
- Burns and other thermal conditions
- Monitor the condition of the victim
- Follow relevant procedures for recording first aid
- Detail the victims condition & the techniques applied
Course Delivery
Our course is flexible in delivery and we provide theory based reading booklet (Learner Guide) to be studied by participants prior to the practical session. We anticipate the pre – learning required may take 4-8 hours depending on participants.
To ensure the integrity of our assessment process there is no online assessment completed, however written assessment and progressive assessments will take place during the practical session.
Award
Upon successful completion of the course a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment Certificate will be issued , which is valid for three years as per the Australian Resuscitation Policy. The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) component of this certificate is valid for 12 months.
To ensure your workers are updated with their skills and knowledge Provide First Aid course is to be attended every three years. The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) component of this is required to be updated yearly.
